What is met-con?

MSC Met-con focuses on developing your energy systems. Our structured programming focuses on development of speed, power and aerobic capacity in a fun group environment. Our Met-Con sessions will ensure you build a great fitness base, as well as helping you to lose some body fat. These sessions run six days a week, with both morning and evening options, and the class is open to any levels of ability and is always adjusted appropriately for individuals based on level of experience.  


What is Barbell club?

The famous Birmingham Barbell Club will give you access to 3x fully coached and programmed sessions per week of coached Strength and Conditioning training that will get you stronger, faster, leaner and feeling great! The Birmingham Barbell Club is our strength training programme, utilising functional compound exercises, predominately Squat, Deadlift and Bench Pressing to develop strength, increase lean muscle tissue and decrease body fat! Barbell club is a structured strength training programme that progresses over 16 weeks. The 16 weeks is divided into 4 blocks, each one increasing the potential for progress of the next phase; this is known as block periodisation. The program is individualised in a way of using RPE scale (rating of perceived exertion) for the intensity used, and scales exercises to each individual’s skill level, injury history and movement abilities. This makes the class suitable for complete beginners, all the way up to intermediate/early advanced levels! Birmingham Barbell is a fully supervised session which will help you to learn the correct technique, then progressively develop and improve your strength and tolerance to resistance training. Under the watchful eye of our team of experts, this club is absolutely guaranteed to get you the training results you want! What is Weightlifting Club?

In our Weightlifting Club you will learn the two Olympic lifts – the Snatch and the Clean and jerk. The club is led and coached by our British Weight Lifting qualified coaches. The session is open to lifters at all levels, whether you are a complete beginner and never lifted before, or if you are a more advanced lifter. Programming is structured and will mostly use % for the intensity. In this way, the program works for any levels of ability. Alongside teaching our proven technical model to the snatch and clean and jerk, we have a high focus on mobility and movement quality. With access to our Eleiko bars, as well as our platforms, blocks, racks, and accessory equipment, our team will be with you every step of the way!
